Manifestos

Cut & Paste Job - Special Report - Sunday TOI - The Times of India: "This is that time in our national life, when 'freedom' is in the air: free rice, free wheat, free water, free electricity and, of course, a colour TV, on which you can see the great drama of democracy unfolding 24x7. So is anything missing here? Yes, a small irritant called the Election Manifesto. The first phase of the Lok Sabha polls is just four weeks away and not a single political party has bothered to release its manifesto. Technically, that should be in place before the campaign. A manifesto, after all, is supposed to be the blueprint of a party's plans for the nation for the next five years; a commitment to its values; a list of the promises it has made and plans to fulfil for millions of people."
